Some background on this:

Before signing to Death Row Records in '99, Crooked I was signed to 19th St. Records w/ Big C-Style under Noo Trybe/Virgin Records.

Noo Trybe was Virgin Records' "urban" (aka hip-hop) division at that time. However, Virgin shut down Noo Trybe abruptly and Crooked I never released a project while signed to the label.

When Big C-Style and Snoop Dogg worked together in '94-95, they introduced Crooked I to Dave Knight who recorded and produced an album for him at Sound Castle Studios, same studio where Dogg Pound & LBC Crew also recorded material at the time. This is the original solo album recorded by young Crooked I. It's not CDQ, but it's the only versions so far that Knight has leaked.

Such an unexpected treat. Love being able to hear vintage Crook music. It would be so dope to get more joints from this era leading up to the time Untouchable was recorded.
